Senior Parents,
The College Counselors hosted meetings with the Class of 2025 last week to discuss post-graduate plans and scholarship reporting. We appreciate you reading this message in its entirety as it includes important information.
Scholarship Reporting
On Monday, April 28th, Vestavia Hills High School will host the Scholarship Awards Program. To prepare for the program and end-of-year reporting, seniors are required to complete the Scholarship Reporting Form by Friday, April 18th. This form has been emailed to students who have already completed their meeting. If your student has not yet met with us, they will need to stop by the Counseling Office to meet with a College Counselor.
Please note, students must be logged into their VHHS email account to access the form, and it should be submitted for every scholarship that has been offered at the time of submission—not just the scholarship(s) from the institution they plan to attend.
We understand that some students are still waiting for scholarship decisions from colleges and universities. We ask that the form be completed with the information available at this time. If there are any updates after the submission deadline, students can visit the Counseling Office to provide updated information.
Additional Information & Reminders:
Scholarship Awards Program
The Scholarship Awards Program will be on Monday, April 28th at 6:00pm in the VHHS Competition Gym. Students are asked to arrive and be in their seats by 5:30pm. Parents and guests are invited to attend. College representatives and community partners will be in attendance to present scholarship certificates to our students.
A few important reminders for students to be recognized:
For inclusion in the Awards Program booklet, the Scholarship Reporting Form must be submitted by Friday, April 18th.
Students must mark their final choice institution as “Enrolling” in SCOIR by Wednesday, April 23rd to be verbally recognized by their final choice institution during the program.
FAFSA
It is a graduation requirement for all seniors to either complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA or have a parent complete the non-participation waiver through ParentSquare.
Final Transcripts
If your student will be attending college after high school, they will need to mark their final choice college/university as “Enrolling” in SCOIR. This action will inform us where to send their final transcript. Final transcripts will be sent during the first week of June.
We appreciate your partnership in helping remind your student about these important steps. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 205-402-5260.
